Our Work
Our Priorities
Advance Health Equity
ACT advocates for all Arizonans with chronic conditions to receive appropriate, culturally-informed care.
Advocate for Access
ACT seeks to ensure affordable coverage and quality care are available to every individual and family in need.
Promote Wellness & Protection
ACT supports programs that emphasize proactive symptom management, creating a more efficient health care system.
Increase Community Support Systems
ACT aims to increase access to patient-centered, integrated care, including behavioral health services.
Our Principles
Prevention
ACT supports policies that ensure preventative services and treatments are available in all health plan benefit designs. This includes health and wellness programs, diagnosis and treatments that prevent and manage chronic conditions and diseases.
Affordability
ACT promotes reasonable health care costs based on household income. We believe affordable, patient-centered chronic illness treatment should be cost-effective by reducing or eliminating unnecessary hospitalizations and improving comprehensive medication management, surgeries, physician visits, and nursing home placements.
Quality Health Care
ACT promotes patient-centered, culturally sensitive and appropriate care proven to support wellness and longevity of patients. This includes primary care medical home models, comprehensive medication management, health information technology, and coordination among health plans, primary care providers, and pharmacists.
We believe access to health professionals with the knowledge, expertise and scientific evidence for effective chronic care management is essential.
Access to Care
ACT envisions a system of care that is accessible, providing high-quality services that emphasize prevention, coordinated care, and promote the patient’s wellness and longevity.
We believe all people should have healthcare coverage, including individuals who have pre-existing conditions. Health care coverage should not include practices that delay or deny access to treatments including adverse tiering, step therapy, prior authorization, non-medical switching and other barriers.
